My Story

Hi, I'm the maker behind Sawdust & Chaos Co. — a small-town Ohio maker, homeschool mom, and farm wife with a passion for creating meaningful handmade pieces.

After spending 11 years teaching in Naples, Florida, my family took a leap of faith and moved back to Northwest Ohio to restore my husband's great-grandparents' farm and our 1914 farmhouse. What began as learning home renovation skills out of necessity soon grew into a love for woodworking, building, and creating.

As I filled our home with handmade signs and meaningful décor, I discovered how much a simple piece can transform a house into a home. Encouraged by friends and family, I turned that passion into Sawdust & Chaos Co., where I create handcrafted signs and home décor inspired by faith, family, and the beauty found in life's chaos.

Today, life is wonderfully full. I homeschool both of my children, help care for our little farm, and juggle all the activities and responsibilities that come with this season of life. Finding time to work in the shop isn't always easy, but I've come to cherish the peace that comes from working with my hands. Whether I'm cutting, sanding, painting, or building, the workshop has become a place where I can slow down, feel grounded, and find joy in turning simple materials into something meaningful.

This business may grow a little slower than some, but it's being built with intention, faith, and a whole lot of determination. Every sign, doormat, and handcrafted piece is created in the midst of real life—between homeschool lessons, farm chores, ballgames, and the everyday responsibilities of raising a family. In many ways, Sawdust & Chaos Co. is a reflection of that life itself—busy days, messy projects, big dreams, and the beauty found in the middle of life's chaos.

At the heart of it all, I believe a home should tell a story. It's where faith grows, traditions begin, children are raised, and memories are made.
